North West Catering and Event Hire are proud to deliver furniture hire and linen hire across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and the surrounding areas including to Stockport.

Stockport is a town in Greater Manchester and the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. As well as the town of Stockport, it also includes the outlying areas of Cheadle and Gatley, Hazel Grove and Bramhall, Worsley, Bredbury and Romiley and Marple.

Historically the town was split between the counties of Lancashire and Cheshire, with the area to the north of the Mersey being in Lancashire. In the 16th century Stockport was a small town entirely on the south bank of the Mersey which was a centre for hemp and rope making, but as the Industrial Revolution took hold the predominant industry became cotton. The town was also known as a centre for the production of hats, which in 1884 was exporting 6 million hats per year.

Since the start of the 20th century Stockport has tried to move away from depending on cotton, making the most of attracting visitors to various heritage centres and building new residential and commercial developments. However, ambitious plans to completely redevlop the city centre were cancelled in 2008 after the private construction company pulled out due to the credit crunch.

Cutlery isn’t just about forks and spoons though. We offer speciality knives and pieces of cutlery equipment to make serving at your event or special occasion easier. Whether you’re cutting cheese, meat or even a wedding cake, we’ve got the knife you need for the job.

If you hate washing up, you don’t need to worry. Our “send it back dirty service” means that you can scrape your cutlery, put it all back in the packing crates and leave it for us to handle back at our warehouse. It certainly beats washing spoons up until the early hours of the morning!

The cup, plate and bowl are among some of the simplest items that we hire out most at North West Catering and Event Hire. They’re not the most exciting items we have in stock but they’re an important part of many kinds of events and occasions.

We have crockery in various different shapes and sizes to match differing styles of events and occasions. Just as importantly, we have a huge quantity of crockery available in stock to ensure that we can meet demands for even the biggest events and weddings without a struggle. That being said, we do recommend that for bigger events that orders are placed with plenty of notice to ensure that they can be picked in time to be delivered.

If washing up just isn’t your thing, you don’t need to worry. Our “send it back dirty” service means all you have to do once your event is over is to scrape the crockery clean of any food debris, put it back into the packing crates that it was delivered in and we will clean them back at our warehouse.
